El 2018 arrancó con todo para Lucas Alario. El delantero argentino anotó dos tantos en la goleada del Bayer Leverkusen sobre el Hoffenheim por 4-1 como visitante, en un encuentro correspondiente a la 19º fecha de la Bundesliga de Alemania.

El ex River y Colón de Santa Fe convirtió su primer doblete en el conjunto teutón, a los 25 minutos del segundo tiempo y a los 45' de la misma etapa, alcanzando de esta manera los cinco goles en la temporada.

El Pipa volvió a ser titular en el equipo dirigido por el alemán Heiko Herrlich, algo que no sucedía desde el 17 de diciembre contra Hannover 96.

Con esta victoria, Bayer Leverkusen (31 puntos) se colocó como escolta de Bayern Münich (44), mientras que Hoffenheim continúa con 27 unidades.
